Project Marea is a complete remodel of a 1962 home tucked into a quiet cul-de-sac in La Jolla, reimagined for a creative young couple seeking a space that felt more reflective of their lifestyle and aesthetic.
The renovation included a full kitchen remodel, fireplace refresh, two bathroom renovations, new flooring, and interior doors. By removing the wall between the kitchen and living spaces and vaulting the ceilings throughout, the home was completely transformed - bringing in natural light and creating a more open, airy flow.
Inspired by the clients’ clean, modern sensibilities, the design balances crisp lines with warm organic textures and tonal materials to create a space that feels calm, minimal, and deeply livable. One of the most impactful transformations took place in the primary bathroom, where a thoughtful reconfiguration helped the compact space feel significantly more open without adding square footage.
The result is a light-filled home that feels quietly expressive, blending modern simplicity with warmth and character.
